An exhibition on gratitude activities launched
PANO – The Training Center of the Staff Department under the General Department of Logistics opened an exhibition themed “Shining the traditions of when drinking water, remember its source and gratitude”, on May 16 at Battalion 512, to mark the 70th anniversary of the Vietnamese Wounded Soldiers' and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947-2017).
More than 130 displayed photos and documents reflected the contributions of wounded soldiers, martyrs and national contributors to the causes of national liberation, building and defense. The exhibits also reflected the guidelines and policies of the Party, the State, the Army and the General Department of Logistics in gratitude works for wounded soldiers, martyrs and national contributors.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General Ngo Thanh Thu, Deputy Chairman of the General Department of Logistics stressed that the exhibition would help arouse the patriotism and national traditions “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Gratitude returning” among troops of the general department, contributing to raising the awareness and responsibility of the general department’s leaders and troops in the implementation of gratitude activities and heightening determination to successfully complete all assigned tasks.
Since 2011, the general department has raised over VND 10 billion for Gratitude Fund; built 270 gratitude houses, 112 houses for needy troops; supported and created jobs for children of martyrs and wounded soldiers; and presented gifts to policy families and national contributors worth a total of nearly VND 50 billion.
