Participating in this phase of airborne parachute training are commando and counterterrorism units under the Hanoi Capital Command, Military Regions 1, 2, and 3, and the Commando Corps.
An instructor from the Department of Tactics at the Commando Officer Candidate School shares practical experience with cadets before their jump. For third-year cadets, parachute training is not merely a training requirement, but also a test of determination and the ability to remain composed under pressure.

Air Force Regiment 916 under Air Force Division 371 is responsible for conducting the parachute training sorties and providing airborne insertion training for commando and special reconnaissance units in Northern Vietnam.

From the moment they leave the aircraft until their parachutes open and they land safely, each paratrooper must maintain control of descent speed, canopy direction, and landing point while adapting to changing weather conditions and terrain.
Landing
Taking wind conditions into account, the paratroopers steer their parachutes toward the designated landing zone.
Helicopters take off to conduct a fast-rope insertion exercise.
Troops from Commando Battalion 19 of the General Staff under Military Region 2 execute fast-rope insertion, land safely, and move immediately into combat formation.
Parachute and fast-rope insertion training for the battalion's counterterrorism force is conducted annually as part of its regular training program.
The troops perform a series of coordinated actions, from fast-roping out of the helicopter to establishing security and advancing in combat formation.
Parachute and fast-rope insertion training plays a vital role in enhancing command and control, coordination, mobility, and the ability to deploy forces before and after airborne and fast-rope insertion, ensuring units are fully prepared to meet operational requirements.

Training on Aerial Battlefield

PANO - In recent days, the Air Defense - Air Force Service has conducted helicopter parachute training sorties at various altitudes, along with helicopter fast-rope insertion exercises for commando units in Northern Vietnam.

Training in this unique environment is among the most demanding and complex programs undertaken by the elite forces of the Vietnam People's Army, designed to strengthen combat readiness, tactical proficiency, and the command and control capabilities of participating units.
