At the meeting, a representative of the standing agency of the MND’s Emulation and Commendation Council gave an overview of the process of receiving and appraising dossiers and achievements of the collectives and individuals proposed for commendation.

The collectives and individuals proposed for the title in the resistance war period recorded outstanding achievements and numerous combat feats in combat operations, command of combat units and combat support, contributing to the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists for national salvation.

Meanwhile, the collectives proposed for commendation in the renewal period successfully fulfilled their assigned political tasks and obtained outstanding or exceptionally outstanding achievements, including outstanding achievements made on an extraordinary basis.

The list of proposed commendations was made public on the MND’s electronic information portal from August 26 to September 6. As of the meeting, the relevant agency had received no comments or objections from organizations or individuals.

Following the report by the standing agency, delegates discussed the proposals and voted to recommend the conferment and posthumous conferment of the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces in the resistance war period, as well as the awarding of the title in the renewal period.
