    Vietnamese military medical force affirms competence in U.N. peacekeeping missions

    PANO - From undertaking a completely new and unprecedented task, the Vietnam People's Army’s military medical force has steadily affirmed its capability, professionalism, and credibility in United Nations (U.N.) peacekeeping operations. In harsh environments, such as South Sudan and the Abyei area, their contributions are reflected not only in medical expertise and discipline, but also in adaptability and the noble qualities of Vietnamese “blue beret” military doctors on the international stage.

    Talks held between Vietnamese and Chinese border units

    PANO – On April 10, at Sam Pun Border Gate, the first quarterly talks of 2026 took place between delegations from the Son Vi Border Station and the Border Station of Sam Pun Border Gate under Vietnam’s Tuyen Quang Provincial Border Guard Command, and representatives from the Heping and Tianpeng Sub-stations under China’s Tianbao Immigration Border Inspection Station.

    PANO – On the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay festival, a delegation from Corps 16 visited and extended greetings to officers and soldiers of units under the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces stationed along the border with Vietnam’s Lam Dong and Dong Nai Provinces.

    PANO - From April 6 to 9 in Attapeu province (Laos), Economic Cooperation Company 385 (under Corps 15) visited, presented gifts, and celebrated the Bunpimay traditional New Year 2026 with local workers and residents.
    Tay Ninh Border Guard extends New Year wishes to Cambodian units

    PANO - From April 2 to 9, a delegation from the Tay Ninh provincial Border Guard Command visited and extended New Year greetings to the Gendarmerie Commands, Military Sub-regions, and Police force of Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, and Tboung Khmum provinces (Cambodia), as well as police posts of international border gates on the opposite side bordering Tay Ninh province on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay.

    PANO - On April 9, a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Command, led by its Deputy Political Commissar Senior Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, visited and extended Chol Chnam Thmay New Year greetings to the Military Sub-Region of Kampong Thom province under the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
    Vietnamese MND extends Bunpimay greetings to Laos

    PANO - On the occasion of Bunpimay, Laos’ traditional New Year festival, Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang led a delegation of Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) to visit and extend greetings to the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam on April 7.
    An Giang Provincial Military Command presents New Year gifts to Khmer pagodas

    PANO – On April 7, Senior Colonel Chau Chac, Deputy Political Commissar of the An Giang Provincial Military Command, led a delegation to visit and present gifts to Khmer pagodas in Tri Ton, O Lam, and Ba Chuc communes (An Giang province) on the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay, the traditional New Year of the Khmer people.
