Proud Melodies of Fatherland Ring out in Clouds
PANO - On September 1, as the country turns toward National Day on September 2, a familiar Vietnam Airlines flight from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City became the setting for a special musical performance. Aboard flight VN245, patriotic melodies filled the cabin at an altitude of 10,000 meters, creating a unique celebration high above the country.
The National Day atmosphere was already evident at Noi Bai International Airport, where passengers received boarding passes featuring the red national flag with its yellow star. Among them were contestants of Miss Vietnam 2026.
For the first time, members of the Military Ceremonial Band performed for passengers in a civilian aircraft. Without a conventional stage or auditorium, the musicians, dressed in formal military uniforms, delivered stirring songs about the Fatherland. Passengers joined in singing and raised national flags, turning a cabin of strangers into a shared space of national pride as Viet Nam marked the 81st anniversary of National Day.
The performance also highlighted the image of soldiers of the Viet Nam People's Army, who are present at the country's major events and contribute to spreading pride and love for the Fatherland. At 10,000 meters, the music seemed to connect earth and sky, linking the nation's heroic past with the present and conveying a simple yet profound message that wherever they are, Vietnamese people carry their love for the Fatherland with them.
