PANO - Can bamboo, a symbol of the Vietnamese spirit, survive in the sun-scorched red soil of the Central African Republic? That question found an unexpected answer during our journey to seek the soul of Vietnamese Tet in Bangui, where members of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) were preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year far from home.

Yet for the Vietnamese blue berets serving at the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), this year’s journey of love does not pass through Noi Bai or Tan Son Nhat airports. Instead, it stretches across the red-dust roads of Bangui, shaping a special spring reunion where comradeship, solidarity, and the mission of peacekeeping blend into a steady heartbeat far from home.

PANO – Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) General Nguyen Trong Nghia paid a Tet visit to the family of General Vo Nguyen Giap and extended New Year greetings to agencies and units of the Vietnam People’s Army on February 16 (the last day of the twelfth lunar month).

Each Tet came with a chill in the air and was marked by combat; not a single one passed in peace. Those were the Tets I experienced in the narrow line between our forces and the enemy.

Two bombs and one artillery warhead safely detonated Dak Lak


PANO – On February 7, the Engineering Board of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command reported that its functional forces successfully coordinated to safely dispose of and detonate two bombs and one artillery warhead discovered by local residents in Ea Ning commune and Thanh Nhat ward, in the western area of Dak Lak province.
