    Vietnam, Laos hold sixth defense policy dialogue

    PANO - Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang and his visiting Lao counterpart Sr. Lt. Gen. Saichay Kommasith, who is also Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army, co-chaired the 6th Vietnam - Laos Defense Policy Dialogue at the headquarters of Military Region 5 on April 3.

    Lao military department works with Signal Corps’ Brigade 134

    PANO - On April 3, at Brigade 134 under the Signal Corps, Senior Colonel Vu Ngoc Khuong, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Corps, welcomed and had a working session with a delegation from the Department of Operations under the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army, led by its Chief Major General Thongsamay Soukpasot.

    PANO - On April 2, Lung Cu Border Station under the Tuyen Quang Provincial Border Guard Command (Vietnam), led by Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Ngoc Tuan, Deputy Head of Lung Cu Border Station, in coordination with Donggan Police Station (China) under the Malin Sub-station of the Tianbao Immigration Border Station of China, headed by Third Class Police Superintendent You Zhiqiang, conducted a joint patrol session in the first quarter of 2026, from Border Markers 409 to 410/2.
    Japanese destroyer visits Da Nang City

    PANO - On April 2, Destroyer JS Asahi of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), led by Captain Jio Takemasa, Commanding Officer of JMSDF's Escort Flotilla Two, with more than 200 officers and crew-members, docked at Tien Sa Port, beginning a visit to Da Nang City from April 2 to 5.
    Corps 15 extends Chol Chnam Thmay greetings in Cambodia

    PANO - A delegation of Corps 15 led by its Deputy Commander Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Lam visited Military Region 1 of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces on April 2 to extend Chol Chnam Thmay greetings as well as inspect and encourage Corps 15 units stationed in the area.

    PANO - On April 2, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense (MND), Deputy Chief of the General Staff (GS) Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son received visiting Major General Thongsamay Soukpasot, Director of the Department of Operations under the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army.

    PANO - A delegation of Military Region 9, led by its Deputy Political Commissar Major General Huynh Van Ngon who is also the head of the military region’s Steering Committee 515, visited, worked and extended New Year greetings to units of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay Festival.

    PANO - On April 1, in Hanoi, a contingent from the Department of Legal Affairs under Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense and its counterpart from the Cuban Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces held an online conference to exchange experience in developing legal frameworks for addressing post-war unexploded ordnance (UXO) contamination.
