Vietnamese Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang and his Chinese counterpart Sr. Lt. Gen. Dong Jun, together with the two countries’ high-ranking delegation, visited and attended the inauguration ceremony of the school’s multi-purpose building - a project gifted by Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense. This event marked a significant milestone in bilateral defense cooperation and served as a vivid symbol of connection, sharing, and investment for the future, beginning with the most practical things - that is, education.
The multi-purpose building includes 12 modern classrooms, one of which is a fully-equipped computer lab to support students in their learning and skill development. This project holds special significance, as it contributes to improving the quality of education and creates better learning conditions for students, as well as reflecting the attention of the MND’s leadership to the cause of education in border areas.

The two ministers visiting the multifunction classroom at Dong Dang Primary School |
Dong Dang Primary School was built on August 19, 2004. Currently, the school has 30 classes with more than 1,100 students. Over the past years, along with performing the tasks of teaching and learning, the school has proactively conducted dissemination and education among generations of teachers and students about the history, culture, and good traditions of the country, including solidarity and longstanding friendship between Vietnam and China.
Attentively, the images of two students from Vietnam’s Dong Dang Primary School and China’s Primary School No.4 wearing red scarves for the two defense ministers left a deep impression on all people. It was not only a solemn ceremony, but also an expression of respect, trust, and great hope for younger generations - those who will nurture and cultivate the enduring friendship between Vietnam and China.
More than just an exchange, the visit stood as a clear testament to the policy of building a long-lasting friendship and solidarity between the two Parties, States, militaries, and peoples, especially in border areas.
The visit and inauguration ceremony of the new multi-purpose building at Dong Dang Primary School not only marked a significant milestone in bilateral defense relations but also served as a vivid symbol of cultural exchange, educational cooperation, and connection between the two nations. In border areas, seeds of friendship are being nurtured with love, responsibility, and the great hopes of those who came before.
