At the meeting, Maj. Gen. Mabrouk Saba emphasized that Viet Nam and Algeria share close historical ties forged through their struggles for national liberation. This provides a foundation for the two countries to continue strengthening solidarity and developing their traditional friendship. He expressed his hope that the delegation’s visit would help promote defense cooperation and open up opportunities for cooperation in information and communications between the two militaries.
Introducing the development of the Department of Information and Communication, the host said information and communications work played an important role in Algeria’s struggle for national independence. Through various media outlets, including radio, Algerian revolutionary forces popularized the just cause of the struggle, strengthened the morale of cadres and soldiers, and sought support from people around the world.

Currently, the department is responsible for information and communications, as well as political and ideological education, contributing to raising military personnel’s awareness, sense of responsibility and fighting spirit.
In his remarks, General Nguyen Trong Nghia thanked the host for the warm reception and spoke highly of the close coordination in facilitating the delegation’s activities since its arrival in Algeria.
Sharing experience from the VPA, General Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that Viet Nam attaches importance to political education, dissemination, culture and the arts, as well as emulation and commendation work. Press and television agencies, together with cultural institutions, halls of fame and museums, operate to help build a politically strong military, strengthen the resolve and confidence of cadres and soldiers, prevent the risks of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation,” and counter hostile forces’ activities against the country.

Building on the areas of cooperation discussed and agreed upon by the two sides, General Nguyen Trong Nghia proposed strengthening coordination in communications and education to promote patriotism, solidarity and friendship between the two peoples; sharing information on the outcomes of strategic cooperation and the achievements of the two countries’ military-building efforts; and exchanging experience and studying approaches to information and communications work amid digital transformation, while making effective use of technology to serve military missions.
He also proposed exchanging experience in cultural products and projects, museum activities and the arts, thereby contributing to greater mutual understanding and closer ties between the peoples and militaries of the two countries.
