He noted that previous engineering rotations had left positive impressions in Abyei, receiving high appreciation from the U.N., international partners, local authorities, and people. The Deputy Defense Minister requested the Engineering Company Rotation 5 to continue promoting those achievements, uphold responsibility, strengthen unity, overcome difficulties, and successfully fulfill assigned missions, thereby contributing to promoting the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and the Viet Nam People’s Army in the international arena.

Before departure, the Engineering Company Rotation 5 completed its pre-deployment training program, focusing on the local situation, mission requirements in Abyei, and regulations of the U.N. and the mission. The unit also studied practical experience from the Engineering Company Rotation 4 and previous rotations in areas such as organization, command, force management, equipment operation, security and safety assurance, and handling unexpected situations.

At present, officers and staff of the Engineering Company Rotation 5 have a firm political stance, stable mindset, a deep sense of honor and responsibility, high determination, and readiness to undertake their mission.

According to the Viet Nam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, the department has coordinated with the U.N. and relevant agencies to implement the rotation plan and transport personnel, goods, and equipment to Abyei. It has also directed the Engineering Company Rotation 4 to strictly prepare for the handover of missions, facilities, equipment, documents, and experience, ensuring that the Engineering Company Rotation 5 can quickly stabilize its organization and maintain the continuous operation of the Vietnamese engineering force at UNISFA.
