The welcome ceremony was held solemnly with the participation of the guards-of-honor, military art troupe, and thousands of local people and students.

After the ceremony, the two ministers and their entourages posed for group photos to capture meaningful moments as a symbol of friendship.

On the occasion, Gen. Phan Van Giang and Sr. Lt. Gen. Dong Jun planted a tree of friendship and toured the friendship gardens planted by the two countries’ young officers at the border gate.

The next stop of the two defense ministers was Dong Dang Primary School in Cao Loc district, Lang Son province where they were welcomed with wonderful performances made by students from Vietnam’s Dong Dang Primary School and China’s Primary School No.4.

Principal of Dong Dang Primary School Hoang Thu Hang sincerely thanked the two ministers and the two countries’ high-ranking MND delegations for their special attention. She affirmed the school’s commitment to continuing promoting the “Teaching well, learning well” emulation movement and joining hands to nurture and tighten the solidarity and traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.

Dong Dang Primary School was built on August 19, 2004. Currently, the school has 30 classes with 1,132 students, 53 teachers and staff. Along with performing the tasks of teaching and learning, the school has pro-actively conducted dissemination and education among generations of teachers and students about the solidarity and longstanding friendship between Vietnam and China.

In his speech, Vice Governor of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Liao Pinhu underscored that the ninth exchange is a practical act for security cooperation, aimed at implementing the common understanding reached by the leaders of the two countries. He also expressed his hope that Vietnamese and Chinese students would enhance exchange activities, experience sharing and cultural exchange to become “young ambassadors” in the Vietnam-China friendship.

On this occasion, the two ministers and delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the multi-function building, a gift from the Vietnamese MND to Dong Dang Primary School. Later, they presented gifts to the school and toured the building.

Later, Gen. Phan Van Giang and Sr. Lt. Gen. Dong Jun visited the Border Station of Huu Nghi International Border Gate. During the visit, the two ministers were briefed on the unit’s operations.

On the occasion, both defense chiefs and the delegates watched a friendly volleyball match between the Border Station of Huu Nghi International Border Gate and the  Reunion Station of the Pingxiang border force.

The two ministers later visited Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park where they were introduced to the park’s operations which are based on a modern technological platform. The park is located at Lang Son International Border Gate and is considered a strategic connection point between the Vietnamese and Chinese economies, and a key logistics gateway on the Trans-Asia trade route.

They also visited the exhibition area showcasing the logistics ecosystem with the capability of deep technology integration, from automated flow control systems and e-commerce goods sorting to contactless control gates and transshipment zones.

The Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park is gradually building a smart border gate model for Vietnam, taking the lead in technology, operational efficiency, and connectivity capacity.

The implementation of the smart border gate at Huu Nghi International Border Gate not only contributes to promoting the flow of goods between Vietnam and China, but also lays the foundation for a modern logistics ecosystem, where people and technology work together in an optimal way.
