At the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Stele, General Nguyen Trong Nghia and the delegation respectfully offered flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh, a national liberation hero and an outstanding cultural figure. He and generations of Vietnamese leaders laid the foundation for the traditional friendship, solidarity, and close ties between the Vietnamese and Algerian peoples.

Inaugurated in 2025, the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Stele is located on the avenue named after him in downtown Algiers. Stretching three kilometers, the avenue is one of the capital’s main thoroughfares. The naming of the avenue and construction of the memorial stele reflect the deep respect of the Algerian people for President Ho Chi Minh, who always expressed sympathy for and supported Algeria’s struggle for national liberation.

Expressing his deep emotion at the resilient and heroic history of the Algerian people, General Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that Viet Nam and Algeria, having shared the arduous struggle against colonialism for independence and freedom, have always been close friends standing side by side through difficulties.
