Ninth Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange concludes successfully

The exchange took place on April 16-17 in Vietnam’s Lang Son province and in China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, under the co-chair of Vietnamese Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang and Chinese Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Dong Jun.

On April 16, activities in China included the welcome ceremony of the Vietnamese delegation at Youyi Guan Border Gate; visiting the Youyi Guan tourist site; touring the Border Company of Youyi Guan Border Gate and planting a tree of friendship; paying visits to the smart border gate at Youyi Guang Border Gate, Pingxiang city’s Primary School No.4, and Zhulian model village in Ningming district.

On April 17, activities in Vietnam included the welcome ceremony of the Chinese delegation at Huu Nghi International Border Gate, planting a tree of friendship; visiting Dong Dang Primary School and attending the inauguration ceremony of multi-purpose building in the school; paying visits to the Border Station of Huu Nghi International Border Gate; touring Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park. Meanwhile, both sides held talks and signed several cooperation agreements. Minister Phan Van Giang also hosted a banquet for his Chinese counterpart Sr. Lt. Gen. Dong Jun and delegates.

Attentively, within the framework of the exchange, the two countries’ navies conducted a joint patrol in the Gulf of Tonkin.
