General Phan Van Giang receives DPRK's Vice Minister of National Defense

During the meeting, General Phan Van Giang affirmed that Viet Nam and the DPRK share a traditional friendship established by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung and nurtured by successive generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

An overview of the meeting

Highly appreciating the results of the earlier talks between the delegations of the DPRK MND and the Vietnamese MND, General Phan Van Giang proposed that the two sides closely coordinate and implement the agreed-upon areas so that defense cooperation becomes a pillar of bilateral relations. The Vietnamese MND supports and will facilitate the smooth and substantive implementation of cooperation between the two sides.

For his part, the DPRK's Vice Minister of National Defense emphasized that his visit and working trip to Viet Nam aimed to further realize the areas of cooperation agreed upon in the Letter of Intent on defense cooperation signed by the two countries' defense ministries in 2025.

He expressed his hope that the two sides will continue coordinating and implementing areas of cooperation between the two defense ministries in the coming period, thereby contributing to further strengthening the DPRK-Viet Nam traditional friendship in a substantive and effective manner.
