An overview of the working session |
The annual activity aimed to review and exchange experience on the coordination between the two units in 2026. The discussions focused on information exchange, coordination in handling issues related to fishing vessels and official vessels of the two countries, law enforcement, maintaining security and order in the Viet Nam-Cambodia historical waters, and search and rescue operations.
The two sides also discussed existing difficulties, agreed on solutions, mapped out orientations for future cooperation, and sought to further consolidate the effective hotline communication mechanism and the close relationship between the two units.

At the working session, Major General Dao Ba Viet introduced the Cambodia delegation to the working environment of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, as well as the political situation, traditions, history, culture, and socio-economic development of Phu Quoc special zone (An Giang province).
The Commander of Coast Guard Region 4 proposed that in the coming time, the two sides continue improving the effectiveness of the hotline mechanism, maintaining contact points and backup communication channels, and pro-actively coordinating to address arising issues, especially those related to fishing vessels. He also suggested that Vietnamese Coast Guard ships conduct visits and working trips to Cambodia.
For his part, Vice Admiral Ly Hout expressed his hope that the two sides would maintain regular information exchanges on all issues in accordance with signed mechanisms, thereby strengthening friendship and cooperation and contributing to peace and development in the region.
