The delegation visited and extended Tet greetings to Sr. Lt. Gen. Phan Trung Kien and Sr. Lt. Gen. Tran Don, both former Deputy Ministers of National Defense.

After inquiring after their health and well-being, General Luong expressed deep gratitude for their significant contribution to the struggle for national liberation, the construction and protection cause of the Fatherland, and the development of the military. He also briefed the former defense leaders on notable achievements of the military in 2024. Particularly, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense successfully led and directed the military to comprehensively complete its tasks. Efforts to build an elite, strong, and gradually modernized military were accelerated, along with advancements in defense industry development.

The military accurately forecast and assessed all situations, providing timely and effective recommendations to the Party and State on military and defense issues. General Luong expressed hope that the former leaders would continue to closely follow the military’s activities and provide valuable opinions to further strengthen the Vietnam People's Army.
