In July 2026, the military has successfully fulfilled its assigned tasks. Notably, units have maintained strict combat readiness, accurately forecast situations, and effectively handled scenarios to firmly protect national territorial sovereignty while ensuring political security and social order. The military has also excelled in civil defense, disaster response, and search and rescue operations, alongside conducting safe and rigorous training, exercises, and defense education.

Political and ideological education has been well-implemented, pro-actively guiding public opinion and countering hostile views. The military has strictly observed directives from the Politburo and the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission on studying Ho Chi Minh’s thought and promoting the cultural values of Uncle Ho’s soldiers. Gratitude activities marking the 79th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day, along with the “500-day campaign” to search for and identify martyrs’ remains, have been effectively deployed.
Furthermore, defense diplomacy, logistics, technical support, science and technology, and judicial and inspection work has achieved positive results, meeting training and combat readiness requirements without any legal miscarriages.
Concluding the conference, General Phan Van Giang commended the military’s achievements. For upcoming tasks, the general asked units to strictly maintain combat readiness and tightly manage the airspace, the sea, the border, and cyberspace to promptly handle situations without being caught off guard. The military must continue streamlining its forces, improving training and exercise quality, and maintaining strict discipline.
General Phan Van Giang also emphasized political education, ideological protection, and security assurance. Concurrently, units need to accelerate the “500-day campaign,” effectively implement science and technology projects, and speed up public investment disbursement and digital transformation.
* Earlier, authorized by the State President and the Prime Minister, General Phan Van Giang handed over the First-Class Military Exploit Order to GDP Chief General Nguyen Trong Nghia; the First-Class Labor Order to the Ministry of National Defense; and the Third-Class Labor Order to the General Staff, the General Department of Political Affairs, General Nguyen Trong Nghia, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, GDP Deputy Chief Senior Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, and former Deputy Chief of the General Staff Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang.
