Participants assessed that the planning dossier fully incorporated directives and appraisal feedback, complying with legal regulations and meeting the academy’s current and future requirements. Concluding the session, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc noted that the master plan requires a long-term vision. He requested agencies to further adjust the layout to suit areas where they are stationed, accurately calculate functional needs, and prioritize urgent projects. The master plan must ensure stability, sustainability, and standardization, with a spacious landscape, rational functional zoning, and a connected traffic system to facilitate teaching, learning, and research.

Since early 2026, the Military Region 9 Party Committee and Command have led the armed forces to effectively act as the core in building the all-people national defense and solid defensive areas. The region has innovated training and maintained high combat readiness. The armed forces have mobilized over VND 539 billion for mass mobilization and policy work, and successfully laid 311 martyrs’ remains to rest.

Addressing the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau praised these achievements and ordered the region to strictly follow directives from the Party and State, especially the guiding principles of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission. The Deputy Minister requested the region to continuously improve practical training, maintain strict combat readiness, streamline forces, uphold discipline, and focus on building strong Party organizations.

* On June 29, a Defense Ministry delegation led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Ba Luc, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, comprehensively inspected task performance in the first-half of 2026 at Brigade 170 (Naval Region 1) and the Quang Ninh provincial Military Command.

Inspecting Brigade 170, Lieutenant General Nguyen Ba Luc highly evaluated the ship crews’ combat readiness during simulated anti-aircraft drone engagements, as well as their swift and safe handling of firefighting and anti-sinking operations. Later that afternoon, while inspecting border guards under the Quang Ninh provincial Military Command, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff commended their pro-active spirit in maintaining security and sovereignty in the Northeastern border waters. He urged the units to update new combat tactics (particularly anti-drone and air defense strategies), maintain strict discipline, improve training quality, and prepare thoroughly for upcoming exercises.

* On June 29, Ninh Binh province, in coordination with Military Region 3, organized a 2026 civil defense and search and rescue (SAR) drill for severe typhoons. Lieutenant General Le Quang Dao, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, attended and directed the event.

This large-scale drill was concurrently deployed at both provincial and communal levels with meticulous preparation. The mechanism-operation phase focused on situation assessment and coordination planning. The live-action phase included storm warnings, guiding vessels, evacuating residents, reinforcing structures, setting up forward command posts, conducting SAR operations on waterways, and operating a field hospital. The drill proceeded flexibly and safely, enhancing the leadership and coordination of local authorities and armed forces. The organizing panel emphasized proactive early preparation, the “four on-the-spot” motto, and technological applications to boost civil defense efficiency.

Following physical inspections at Regiment 584 and the Ia Rve and Ea H’leo Border Posts, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To commended the units’ leadership. He requested them to continue advising local authorities on military tasks, focusing on defensive area and civil defense drills. Furthermore, the units must coordinate border demarcation with Cambodia, manage civilian mobilization resources, combat crimes and illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and accelerate the search for martyrs’ remains. Strict combat readiness must be maintained to firmly protect the border, airspace, maritime zones, and cyberspace.

* On June 29, a delegation led by Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs and member of the National Steering Committee 515, inspected forces searching for martyrs’ remains in the Truong Chinh street area across Dak Cam and Kon Tum wards (Quang Ngai province).

According to the Quang Ngai provincial Military Command, since June 5, the unit has excavated 45 locations, moving over 3,212 cubic meters of earth. By the afternoon of June 29, functional forces had found one set of remains.

On behalf of the General Department of Political Affairs’ leadership, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh commended the search forces’ efforts. He emphasized that repatriating martyrs is a sacred duty reflecting deep national gratitude toward those who sacrificed for the nation.

Moving forward, he ordered the provincial Steering Committee 515, the Quang Ngai provincial Military Command, and Team K53 to maintain their dedication and scientific rigor to locate and identify every martyr, helping ease the pain of war.

During the visit, the delegation offered incense at Dak Cam ward War Cemetery and presented gifts to Team K53 and local police force.
