During the reception, Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien affirmed that Vietnam and India boast a long-standing traditional friendship, which has been nurtured by generations of leaders and people of both countries over time.
Since Vietnam and India upgraded the ties to the comprehensive strategic partnership in September, 2016, the cooperation between the two countries has recorded important progress in many fields, of which bilateral defense cooperation has been accelerated by both sides in a more substantive and effective manner, especially in fields of higher-level delegation exchange, cooperation mechanisms, education and training, defense industry, U.N. peacekeeping operations, to name but a few.

An overview of the reception |
The Vietnamese deputy defense minister required the Indian Ambassador to continue to enhance Vietnam-India defense cooperation, focusing on several key contents, such as Vietnam-India deputy ministerial-level defense policy dialogue, the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024, information transfer, training, military medicine, post-war consequence settlement.
For his part, Ambassador Sandeep Arya underscored that defense cooperation is one of the pillars of the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership. He believed that in the time to come, the cooperative relations between the two sides would be further boosted in a more substantive and effective manner.

On the occasion, Sandeep Arya sent his congratulations on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), affirming that the Indian senior leaders always value the relationship with Vietnam, and the VPA and consider developing relations with Vietnam a top priority.
