* From February 2 to 8, leaders of the Department of Electronic Warfare under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army have inspected its units’ preparations for the coming Tet and presented gifts to troops. The department’s inspection mission concluded that all the troops were prepared to undertake and fulfill effectively assigned missions.
* Coffee 15 One Member Limited Liability Company of Military Region 5 has presented gifts to needy people, those who had rendered good service to the nation and workers in the Central Highlands region. In addition, the company wrapped 600 Chung cakes (glutinous rice cakes, made for the traditional Tet) for those in need in the locality.
* Division 470 of Army Corps 12 presented gifts to national contributors and needy people. The unit’s leaders visited and extended new year wishes to heroic Vietnamese mother Le Thi Tung in Tan Hoa ward, Buon Ma Thuot City and former leaders of the unit, encouraged those on duty and paid homage to fallen soldiers in martyrs’ cemeteries.
* The Bureau of the People’s Army Newspaper in Can Tho City, in association with Economic-Defense Mission 915 handed over 100 gifts to needy people in border district of Giang Thanh, Kien Giang province. This was among social activities of the newspaper to call upon businesses to share difficulties with those in needy to help them have a happy traditional Tet.
* To date, agencies of labor, invalids and social affairs of Thua Thien-Hue’s districts and towns have completed social program to present gifts to national contributors, needy people and policy beneficiaries in the province.
* The Political Department of Air Defense-Air Force Service handed over gifts to youths with fatal illness and inquired after the unit’s troops and staff whose spouses or children are suffering from illness and needy households. The activity aimed to encourage ill-fated people as well as promote unity among the unit’s troops and staff.
* A mission of the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command, in association with local authorities presented gifts to needy people in Con Cuong and Ky Son districts.
* On February 8, Division 317 of Military Region 7 sent working missions to extend new year wishes and present gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, national contributors and needy militiamen. The missions expressed their deep gratitude to sacrifices and contributions of heroic Vietnamese mothers and national contributors to the national resistance war.
* The same day, leaders of Ho Chi Minh Municipal Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee visited those in needy in the locality and wished them have a happy and prosperous new year.
