Military unit meets with heroic Vietnamese mothers in Phu Tho
PANO - On October 2, the Phu Tho provincial Military Command held a gathering with local heroic Vietnamese mothers and Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces to mark the 80th foundation anniversary of Military Region 2 (MR2) (October 19, 1946-2026).
The event was chaired by Senior Colonel Nguyen Duc Cuong, Political Commissar of the command.
At the event, delegates reviewed the 80-year journey of building, fighting, and development of MR2. Under the leadership of the Party and the Central Military Commission, MR2 in general and Phu Tho province’s armed forces in particular have constantly upheld traditions, successfully fulfilled all assigned missions, making significant contribution to the cause of national liberation, and the building and defense of the Fatherland.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Colonel Nguyen Duc Cuong expressed deep gratitude for the immense contribution and sacrifices of the heroic Vietnamese mothers, Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, wounded and sick soldiers, and families of fallen soldiers. He emphasized that the Party Committee and the provincial Military Command regard gratitude activities and caring for policy beneficiaries as a profound sentiment and a key political responsibility. He also affirmed that the officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces will always uphold the noble virtues of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers,” striving to successfully accomplish local military and defense tasks in the new situation.
On this occasion, the command’s leader presented meaningful gifts to the heroic Vietnamese mothers and Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces. He wished them good health and hoped that they will remain shining examples for the younger generation to follow.
