The event was attended by Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Medical University, and Senior Colonel Vu Quyet Thang, Deputy Political Chief of the university, among others.
Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Vu Quyet Thang emphasized that voluntary blood donation was a noble humanitarian act, reflecting the Vietnamese traditions of mutual affection, solidarity, and helping those in need. He said every donated blood drop was not only a valuable contribution to saving patients' lives but also a message of compassion, connecting people and bringing hope to those in need.
For cadets and students of the Military Medical University, voluntary blood donation carries even greater significance. It reflects their compassion, sense of responsibility, and medical ethics, while helping them cultivate the qualities of future military medical personnel from their time at school.
To ensure the drive was conducted safely and effectively, Major General Nguyen Van Nam asked the organizing committee and blood collection team to uphold their sense of responsibility, strictly observe professional procedures, and ensure absolute safety. He also requested officers and Youth Union members of Cadet Management Unit 2 to promote their vanguard spirit, strictly follow medical staff's instructions, and maintain their health throughout the activity.
The general asked Youth Union organizations throughout the university to continue innovating information dissemination and education activities so that humanitarian movements, particularly voluntary blood donation, would become a regular and voluntary practice among Youth Union members.
Following the launching ceremony, the officers, cadets, and Youth Union members of the university participated in the blood donation drive, with more than 600 blood units collected.
