Every evening from Monday to Friday, the “teachers in green uniforms” regularly teach the children, offering them care, encouragement, and hope. Thanks to their dedication and perseverance, more than 400 poor children in the border area have overcome illiteracy over the past 14 years. Many have gone on to attend regular schools or vocational training programs, giving them better opportunities to stabilize their lives. In addition to teaching reading, writing, and mathematics, border guards also teach the children about morality, the law and life skills, helping them make progress and grow.

Tuyen Binh Border Post and benefactors present gifts to students of the class.

The students attending the class all face difficult circumstances and lack personal identification documents, making them ineligible to attend regular schools. Understanding the concerns of their parents and caring deeply about the children's future, Tuyen Binh Border Post established the class to provide them with primary-level education. The unit also calls on benefactors to provide books, clothing, and school supplies.

Nguyen Van Kiet, Vice Principal of Tuyen Binh Primary and Secondary School, said the class is a humane and noble initiative by the Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard, demonstrating the soldiers' deep care and affection for disadvantaged students. He noted that the class is not only a place where children learn academic knowledge but also a place where they receive encouragement and emotional support, helping them gain confidence to overcome difficulties in life. The school will closely coordinate with the unit in teaching, managing, and encouraging the students to help them make further progress, he added.

In the 2026-2027 school year, several classes are being maintained in Tay Ninh province with the coordination of local border units, including those at the Border Post of Ben Luc Port Border Gate, Tuyen Binh Border Post and Ben Pho Border Post. The charity class in the area of Tuyen Binh Border Post has 40 students.

At the opening of the new school year, officers and soldiers of Tuyen Binh Border Post and benefactors presented gifts and school supplies and provided support to improve the children's living conditions. Maj. Nguyen Trong Huy, Deputy Political Commissar of Tuyen Binh Border Post, said that in addition to their regular duties, the unit has actively coordinated with local authorities to carry out activities to promote social welfare and build a safe and strong local area.

The charity class gives the children opportunities to learn to read and write, develop basic numeracy and life skills, Maj. Huy said. The class also helps strengthen the close bond between the military and the people, further highlighting the noble image of Uncle Ho's Soldiers in the new era.
