The program was among a series of activities launched by the MMU youths to celebrate the 10th MMU Youth Union Congress.

With a sense of readiness to donate blood to save lives at any time, during the ongoing complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Youth Union members and young people of the Military Medical University have upheld the pioneer spirit, voluntarily donated blood to meet the blood needs for patient treatment at a very difficult time when hospital's blood reserve is scarce.

In the first program held in the first half of this year, the university collected nearly 466 blood units for emergency and treatment.

Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Tran Quang Tuynh, MMU’s Director of Political Department, said that donating blood to save lives is a noble gesture. Blood recipients not only receive the life but also receive the sharing, affection and attention of the whole society in general and blood donors in particular.

He added that the precious drops of blood full of compassion will bring life and happiness to many people, families and society. “Your affection and kindness will be welcomed, respected, remembered and honored by society,” Tuynh stressed.

He urged the MMU’s cadres, Youth Union members, youths to actively respond to the blood donation program to save more lives, and consider it their responsibility and sacred obligation.

He believed that the program will be multiplied and its achievements will be promoted to shine the national tradition of sharing and compassion.

After the launching ceremony, more than 400 Youth Union members and youths of the MMU donated their blood in a hope of saving more lives in the future.
