Military units launch blood donation drive
PANO – The Central Military Hospital 108, on March 19, in coordination with the Army Corps 12 Command, and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Dai Mo Ward, Nam Tu Liem District (Hanoi), organized a voluntary blood donation drive in Hanoi.
According to Second-in-Command of Army Corps 12 Senior Colonel Vu Phuc Hau, the activity showed the responsibility and noble deed of the unit’s troops and youths of Dai Mo ward towards the community.
The program attracted the participation of many youths and troops. Via the program, the hospital expects to collect nearly 500 blood units to serve treatment for soldiers and people.

* On the same day, the Army Officer Candidate School No.1 (known as Tran Quoc Tuan University) and Military Hospital 103 jointly ran a blood donation program in 2022.
The school’s Deputy Director cum Head of Organizing Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in 2022 Major General Nguyen Van Thanh attended the event.
Over the past time, voluntary blood donation drives have been implemented widely, attracting many troops in the school.

In 2021 alone, amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the school also organized two blood donation drives to ease blood shortage in hospitals.
Speaking at the event, General Thanh held that under the directions of the Ministry of National Defense, since 2010, the school and the hospital have carried out 21 blood donation drives with over 12,500 blood unit collected.
During the program, the troops donated nearly 700 blood units for treatment.
