Can Tho border guards present house to disadvantaged family

The family of Thach Thi Thuong, born in 1979 and residing in Vinh Binh area, Vinh Chau ward, Can Tho City, is in a particularly difficult circumstance. Neither she nor her husband has a stable job, earning their living primarily by selling lottery tickets. Her husband previously suffered a traffic accident that severely restricted his health and mobility, while she suffers from heart disease, compounding daily household hardships.

In response to these difficult circumstances, Vinh Chau Border Post mobilized financial support from benefactors to construct a new home for her family. Following a period of construction, the house, valued at VND 35 million, was completed and handed over to the family.

Beyond mobilizing financial contributions, personnel of Vinh Chau Border Post and other forces contributed more than 40 working days to assist in the construction of the house. This practical act has demonstrated the responsibility and sentiment of border guards toward needy families in coastal border areas.

At the handover ceremony, participating units and benefactors also presented Thuong's family with an iron bed, a mattress, 200 kilograms of rice, and other necessities with a total value of approximately VND 10 million.

Assisting in constructing and handing over the house to the family not only provides the family with stable and safe accommodation, but also contributes to effectively implementing social welfare programs in the locality. This practical activity continues to spread the noble image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, strengthen military-civilian solidarity, and build an increasingly firm whole-people border defense posture.
