Hue's border guard units guide 1,120 vehicles to safety

Hue city is forecast to experience a heavy to very heavy rain from September 12 to 14, with rainfall generally ranging from 70 to 180mm and exceeding 250mm in some areas. The heavy rain could trigger flash floods, landslides and flooding in low-lying areas and downstream areas along rivers.

The city’s Border Guard Command has kept hundreds of officers and soldiers and 32 vehicles on standby for search and rescue and storm response operations. Along the coast, border guard units guided all 1,120 ships and 7,909 crew-members and workers to safe mooring areas. In mountainous areas, border posts are working with local authorities to identify areas at risk of landslides and flash floods and encourage residents to evacuate to safer places when necessary.

On the afternoon of September 12, a fishing boat owned by the family of Ha Ngoanh, born in 1985 and residing in Phu Tan residential area, Thuan An ward, was sunk by waves while moored at Thuan An Fishing Port in Hue City. After receiving the report, the Hue Municipal Border Guard Command coordinated with the boat owner and other forces to salvage it.

The units continue to maintain strict duty regulations and closely monitor the tropical depression, heavy rain and flooding. They are coordinating with local authorities to promptly implement response measures and minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
