More activities held to care for border people in An Giang province
PANO – On August 27 and 28, the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command and the provincial Women’s Union, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Youth Charity Group, held many social welfare activities at Vinh Xuong border commune (Tan Chau town, An Giang province).
Accordingly, the units handed over a gratitude house, worth VND 40 million, to a needy family; inquired after and presented 100 gifts to policy and needy households; offered 20 scholarships, 300 gifts and 10 bicycles to needy students with good academic records in Vinh Xuong commune.

At Vinh Xuong A Secondary School, the HCMC Youth Charity Group launched eight stalls selling items at the same price of VND 1,000, including clothing, school supplies, and necessities for the locals and students in Vinh Xuong commune; and organized 10 food stalls and folk games for students, to name but a few.

In addition, the delegation visited and presented gifts to troops on duty on the Tien River and at COVID-19 checkpoints under the Border Post of the Vinh Xuong International Border Gate (An Giang provincial Border Guard Command).

On this occasion, the organizing board invited psychologists from HCMC to share experience in preventing and combating child sexual abuse for more than 300 students, and hosted an artistic performance for border troops and local people. The total cost of the program was more than VND 350 million.

These activities were part of the program “Millions of gifts to share love” and the coordination program “Accompanying border women” in the 2021-2025 period between the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command and the provincial Women’s Union.
