PANO - The Ministry of National Defense (MND) held a ceremony on September 22 in Ho Chi Minh City to deploy the Level-two Field Hospital (L2FH) Rotation 7 and the Engineering Company Rotation 4 to South Sudan and Abyei.

Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien presided over the event.

Present at the ceremony were Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Gillian Elizabeth Bird, representatives from Consulate Generals of some countries in Ho Chi Minh City and some foreign military attaches to Vietnam as well as representatives of some international organizations.

All 63 members of the L2FH Rotation 7 and 184 members of the Engineering Company Rotation 4 are highly professional and have excellently completed the training under the U.N. standards.

Addressing the event, Gen. Chien expressed gratitude to the U.N., international partners, and peace-loving people worldwide for their active and great support to Vietnam during its national building and defense cause and creation of favorable conditions for the country to further perform its active and responsible role in international community.

The defense leader asked the two deployed units to strictly embrace the Party’s guideline, improve the quality of force preparation and training, and ensure security and safety for participating forces. They should also promote confidence, self-reliance, national pride and close coordination with relevant forces from foreign countries to raise capability and effectiveness of task implementation.

While performing their duties, they should enhance dissemination of information about Vietnam, its people, especially the country’s contribution to peace and security in the region and the world among international friends.

“Each serviceman not only excels in their professional duties, but also acts as an ambassador of peace at U.N. missions and the host countries while carrying forward the traditions and good qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers,” Gen. Chien requested, adding that they should be worthy of the trust of the Party, State and people, build a nice image of peace-loving Vietnam and Vietnamese people in the eyes of local people and international friends.
