The ten houses cost over VND 942 million, of which the Vietnam Infrastructure Investment & Development Joint Stock Company supported VND 700 million, while the rest was provided by border units in the province, organizations, and individuals in the province.

A ceremony to hand over a house to a household in Beng village, Ia Chia commune

Addressing the handover ceremony, Commanding Officer of the Gia Lai provincial Border Guard Command Senior Colonel Tran Tien Hai noted that, over the past time, thanks to the care of the Party and State, the provincial socio-economic and cultural situations have developed considerably. Therefore, the locals’ lives have been improved while the sovereignty, national border security, political security and social order and safety have been maintained.

However, ethnic minorities in border areas are facing difficulties. The rate of poor and near-poor households remains high (poor households are 14.5%, near-poor households are 12.1%). Among them, many are still facing housing difficulties.

Therefore, local authorities and provincial border guard forces have decided to help the needy people build new houses.

The border unit has also worked with sponsors to build ten houses for border people in seven border communes. After nearly two months, all the houses have been completed with high quality.

On this occasion, the Gia Lai provincial Border Command and the company offered necessities to the recipients.
