The mission was joined by leaders of Military Region 1, Thai Nguyen province, and representatives of agencies and units under the GDP.

At the Memorial House of President Ho Chi Minh within the ATK Dinh Hoa Relic Site, where Uncle Ho, the Party Central Committee, and the Government lived and worked to lead the resistance war against the French colonialists (1946-1954), General Nguyen Trong Nghia and his entourage offered incense and flowers in tribute to the immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh. Before his sacred image, the delegation pledged to be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people; determined to study and follow his thought, morality, and style; and to build a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modernized Vietnam People’s Army.

Continuing the journey, the delegation offered incense at the Pu Don Hill Historical Relic Site (Tin Keo hamlet, Phu Dinh commune), where on May 28, 1948, President Ho Chi Minh presided over the ceremony conferring the first rank of General on comrade Vo Nguyen Giap. In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation paid deep tribute to the great contribution of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the “Eldest Brother” of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Leaving Pu Don Hill, the mission went to offer incense at the GDP Historical Relic Site (also known as the Five-Door Tunnel Relic Site) in Khau Dieu hamlet, Binh Yen commune). Here, General Nguyen Trong Nghia and delegates paid tribute to General Nguyen Chi Thanh, the first Chief of the GDP, as well as heroic martyrs and former leaders of the GDP. The delegation pledged to continue upholding the glorious traditions, maintaining firm political stance, and excellently fulfilling all assigned tasks. Also, the mission planted commemorative trees at the relic sites; visited and presented gifts to the family of Trieu Thi Cam, a local household that has actively cared for and preserved the site.

On the same day, General Nguyen Trong Nghia visited Lieutenant General Dam Dinh Trai, former Deputy Chief of the GDP. On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Nguyen Trong Nghia solicitously inquired after his health and expressed deep gratitude for the persistent contribution of Lieutenant General Dam Dinh Trai, hoping that he would continue to contribute his enthusiasm and wisdom to the cause of the military building.
