Troops Risk their Lives for Flood-hit Residents
PANO - As news about the recent severe historic floods in Central provinces spread, images of officers and soldiers risking their lives, selflessly rushing into the heart of the floodwaters to save civilians touched the hearts of millions of people.
Amidst the blinding rain and rising waters, troops waded through fast-flowing currents, reaching isolated areas, crossing dangerous terrain to bring elderly people, children, and entire families to safety. Day or night, they worked nonstop with one thing in mind: lives of people come first and above all.
This silent sacrifice embodies the spirit of “For the sake of the people, forget the self,” a noble tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army. In peacetime, while safeguarding the nation, soldiers remain a trusted fulcrum for residents in times of hardships. Their dedication reflects humanity, compassion, and responsibility, an order that comes straight from the heart of every soldier.
The People’s Army Newspaper would like to present some photos of troops risking their lives for the people.
