Over the past five years, the Central Highlands have reaped important outcomes in socio-economy, culture, defense and security.
Attentively, military units, defense-economic missions stationed in the Central Highlands have actively conducted mass mobilization work, helping raise local people’s awareness of the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws. Military units have also engaged in building a strong local political system and carried out a number of programs, contributing to local socio-economic development, new-style rural area building, and sustainable poverty reduction. Their initiatives have proved effective, consolidating the close-knit bonds between the military and people, particularly ethnic communities.
At the meeting, village patriarchs, village heads, reputable people, religious dignitaries, and leaders of military units showed absolute trust in the leadership of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense. Village patriarchs, village heads welcome General Nguyen Trong Nghia. |
Village patriarch Y Thong Kdoh of Tri hamlet, Buon Don commune, Dak Lak province happily said that his village has changed positively and peacefully with roads, electricity, clean water, children’s opportunity to go to school, and improved health care. He attributed these changes to the Party and State’s attention, and especially assistance from military troops.
In his remarks, Gen. Nghia acknowledged great contribution of the outstanding figures at the meeting. He hoped that they continue to uphold their role as spiritual leaders, serving as centers of unity, setting examples, and taking the lead in activities of villages and parishes.
The GDP’s Chief requested military units garrisoned in the Central Highlands to carry forward good qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, strengthen unity and close ties with ethnic and religious communities and encourage locals to participate in socio-economic development programs, sustainable poverty reduction, and preservation of the cultural identity of Central Highlands’ ethnic groups. He urged military units to pro-actively reach out to people, not wait for people to seek help from them.
Gen. Nghia also urged local Party committees and authorities to fully and properly recognize the position, role, and importance of village patriarchs, village heads, reputable persons, and religious dignitaries within communities. Attention should be given to providing knowledge, methods, and encouragement so they can effectively promote their roles. He asked for innovative dissemination methods to strengthen public trust in the Party and the State and fight against all schemes of hostile and reactionary forces seeking to undermine the great national unity bloc.
On this occasion, Gen. Nghia and delegates offered flowers and incense at President Ho Chi Minh Monument at Corps 15; presented gifts to village patriarchs, village heads, reputable persons, and religious dignitaries.
