According to Lieutenant Colonel Bui Van Nhon, Political Commissar of Regiment 43, over the past years, the unit’s officers and soldiers have stood side by side with local authorities, armed forces, and ethnic communities. By effectively implementing mass mobilization activities, the regiment’s troops have joined hands with local people in Quang Tan and Quang Duc communes (Quang Ninh province) to build new-style rural areas, eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, and engage in disaster prevention and response efforts, as well as search and rescue operations. Troops have also actively disseminated the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies, contributing to socio-economic development in border areas.

Tran Thi Minh Chau, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Duc commune and Secretary of the commune’s Youth Union, said that on every holiday and Lunar New Year occasion, Regiment 43 often coordinates with local organizations to implement a range of practical initiatives such as “Regiment’s youth with border spring,” “Zero-VND stalls,” and “Border spring strengthening military-civilian ties."
In addition, the unit has developed a variety of effective and practical approaches tailored to local conditions, particularly in remote, isolated areas and those with large ethnic minority populations. Therefore, the quality of mass mobilization has been enhanced.
Local Phoong Nhi Mui shared that Regiment 43 has developed and implemented a model titled “Teaching Vietnamese to ethnic people.” Officers of the unit have gone “door to door,” combining the dissemination of the Party’s guidelines, policies and laws with hands-on instruction, helping both the elderly and children practice writing, reading, and basic communication skills in Vietnamese.
Through such efforts, local people have gradually become familiar with the written language. They can now read, write, follow the news, and communicate at a basic level in the common language. This has made it easier for them to access information on socio-economic development policies for ethnic communities in border areas.
As a result, over the past five years, the unit has built and effectively implemented eight mass mobilization models; organized 76 dissemination sessions for thousands of people; produced, published, and broadcast hundreds of articles; printed 30 banners and action slogans; and distributed more than 1,200 leaflets to local people.
