As part of the program, Flotilla 11 updated nearly 200 officials, civil servants, public employees, and fishermen in Dong Thai Ninh commune on the current situation in Vietnam’s sea and islands; key provisions of the Fisheries Law in 2017 and Vietnam Coast Guard Law in 2018; regulations on combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing; as well as the functions, tasks, and authority of the Vietnam Coast Guard.
On this occasion, the unit’s leadership visited and presented gifts to the families of two first-class wounded soldiers, namely Le Cong Hang and Nguyen Ngoc My. Gifts were also presented to policy families and disadvantaged fishermen in Dong Thai Ninh commune. Additionally, 200 national flags, 200 leaflets and brochures, and 50 legal dissemination handbooks were distributed to local fishermen.
On the same day, Flotilla 11, in coordination with various units, held the “I love national sea and islands” contest with the participation of 100 outstanding students from Thai Do, Thai Xuyen, My Loc, Thai Tan, and Thai Hoc Primary and Secondary Schools in Dong Thai Ninh commune.

The contestants competed in a “Golden Bell Challenge” format with multiple-choice questions divided into four rounds. The questions focused on basic knowledge about Vietnam’s sea and islands; the Vietnam Law of the Sea in 2012; Vietnam Coast Guard Law in 2018 and the traditions of the Vietnam Coast Guard; IUU fishing regulations; drug prevention; school violence prevention; and historical, cultural, and geographic knowledge related to Hung Yen province.
As a result, Tran Bich Loan, a seventh grader of Thai Xuyen Primary and Secondary School, won first prize. The organizers also presented second, third, and consolation prizes to other high-achieving students.
As part of the program, Flotilla 11 also coordinated with local schools to organize a drawing competition themed “The Fatherland’s sea and islands and the Vietnam Coast Guard.” After nearly a month, the organizers received nearly 100 artworks from students of five schools. Twenty outstanding pieces were selected for display and awards.
