During the patrol, the two sides performed the salute called Hello ASEAN (a saluting procedure at sea among naval ships of ASEAN member states), exchanged maritime information, practiced signaling using hand flags, signal lamps, and whistles in accordance with the International Code of Signals, and implemented the Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea (CUES), which is used among the navies of Western Pacific countries.

Captain Phung Duc Huy, Deputy Commanding Officer and Chief-of-Staff of Brigade 127, and leader of the Vietnamese patrol ship, shared that the 79th joint patrol was carried out in adverse weather conditions, including thunderstorms, rough seas, and strong winds. However, both sides overcame these difficulties, executed the operation according to plan, and ensured absolute safety.
