Viet Nam’s participation in MSPO opens new opportunities for its defense industry

Long regarded as the largest defense exhibition in Central and Eastern Europe, MSPO brings together advanced defense technologies and major companies from around the world. This year’s exhibition covers nearly 50,000 square meters and features more than 1,000 companies and exhibitors from 40 countries. Its opening ceremony drew representatives from governments, defense and home affairs ministries, diplomatic missions, defense procurement agencies, experts and scholars.

Attending the event, the Vietnamese delegation explored the latest trends in the design and production of next-generation weapons and military equipment. Its participation reaffirmed Viet Nam’s policy of pro-active international integration and defense diplomacy, while providing opportunities to expand defense cooperation, access advanced scientific and technological achievements, and support the building of a revolutionary, regular, elite and modernized Viet Nam People’s Army.

During the exhibition, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang and the delegation visited defense industry displays from various countries and examined emerging developments in military equipment, advanced defense technologies and solutions for modern warfare. Breakthrough technologies, including artificial intelligence for combat command and control, automation systems and cybersecurity solutions, drew particular attention.

The engagements also provided Viet Nam with an objective view of trends in the global defense market and created opportunities to promote defense industry cooperation based on the needs and capabilities of each side. Defense industry groups and companies expressed strong interest in the Viet Nam Defense Expo 2026 and said they would attend the event in Ha Noi in December. 

An overview of the exhibition

At the MSPO, members of the Vietnamese delegation also held bilateral meetings with major defense industry groups and companies, seeking opportunities for cooperation in research, production and the application of science and technology. The efforts are expected to help strengthen the Vietnamese defense industry’s internal capabilities, advance self-reliance and modernization, and promote deeper international integration.
