During the visit, Lt. Gen. Le Van Huong held a meeting with General Dhiraj Seth, Chief of the Army Staff of India. The two sides spoke highly of substantive cooperation between the two armies in areas including delegation exchanges at all levels, consultation and dialogue mechanisms, education and training, and young officer exchanges, as well as the Indian Army’s support and cooperation in enhancing capabilities and implementing assistance projects for Viet Nam.

In the time to come, both sides agreed to continue strengthening delegation exchanges at all levels, training cooperation and capacity building for U.N. peacekeeping operations. They also agreed to explore expanded cooperation in potential areas such as cybersecurity, digital transformation in the military, military medicine and military sports, with a view to making bilateral defense cooperation a truly important pillar of the relations between the two countries.

* On September 5, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Indian Army’s Officers Training Academy and attended the graduation ceremony for the school’s 65th short service technical officers course and 36th short service technical women officers course.

Addressing the ceremony, Lt. Gen. Le Van Huong congratulated the trainees on successfully completing their training programs. He expressed his belief that the graduates would continue to uphold their qualities and capabilities, contribute to building an increasingly strong Indian Army, and serve as bridges in fostering friendship between India and other countries, including Viet Nam.

Earlier, the delegation laid a wreath at the National War Memorial of India.
