This year, Kien Giang is tasked with enlisting and handing over 1,300 youths to different units, including the Naval Region 5 Command, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, the provincial Border Guard Command, Brigade 950, and Infantry Division 330 of Military Region 9.

At the conference, Colonel Huynh Van Hung asked the councils of military service at the provincial, city and district levels to promote information dissemination to encourage youths to serve the military and cooperate with military units to hold solemn handover ceremonies as regulated. He also urged the councils to fully carry out homefront policies for enlistees.

Amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, relevant agencies and units should pay attention to observing pandemic prevention and control regulations. All enlistees must be fully-vaccinated with two jabs of COVID-19 vaccines, Hung added.

At the event, the Kien Giang provincial Military Command signed a coordination agreement with different military units.
