In particular, a landslide with the length of approximately 20 meters appeared near Tri Le 4 Primary School in Muong Long village, posing a direct threat to the school’s foundation as well as to the lives and property of local residents.

In response, on July 14, Tri Le Border Post mobilized officers and soldiers to coordinate with local authorities and villagers in Muong Long to carry out the reinforcement. The forces collected bamboo stakes and filled sandbags to build temporary retaining walls.

According to Deputy Political Commissar of Tri Le Border Post Lieutenant Colonel Ho Xuan Toan, the unit swiftly mobilized personnel and equipment, coordinated with local authorities and residents of Muong Long village to reinforce the landslide-prone areas. Due to difficult terrain, the officers and soldiers applied ‘four-on-the-spot’ approach. “We consider this an urgent political task and promptly and effectively conduct the mission to ensure the safety of both local residents and the school,” said Col. Toan.

Thanks to the timely, determined response and high sense of responsibility of the border guard officers and soldiers, along with the active support of local villagers, the landslide area has now been basically stabilized, ensuring immediate safety for the school and surrounding residential areas.

This effort continued to prove the key, vanguard role of the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard force in disaster prevention and control, search and rescue operations, and in protecting the peaceful life of people in border areas.
