Officer from Ngoc Vung Border Post and fishermen aboard fishing vessel QN-90640-TS assist the distressed vessel.

Upon receiving the report, Ngoc Vung Border Post dispatched a rescue team of five officers and soldiers aboard a 500-horsepower motorboat. The team was led by Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Trung Kien, the post’s Second-in-Command.

By 2:00 p.m., the team had reached the distressed vessel HP-90671-TS, which had taken on water in one-third of its hull. Fortunately, all five crew-members, led by captain Dinh Khac Quyen from Lap Le Commune, Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong City, were safe.

The rescue team coordinated with nearby fishing vessel QN-90640-TS to tow the distressed boat to Ha Mai Border Checkpoint, under the jurisdiction of Ngoc Vung Border Post.

A preliminary assessment found that seawater had entered multiple compartments, damaging the vessel’s engine and water pump system.

By 4:45 p.m., the pump system had been repaired, and vessel QN-90640-TS successfully towed the distressed boat ashore for further maintenance.

Ngoc Vung Border Post also provided the rescued crew with food, drinking water, and other essential supplies.
