Song Tu Tay island infirmary provides emergency treatment to fisherman
PANO - On October 6, the Infirmary of Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) Island in Truong Sa special zone, Khanh Hoa province announced that the unit was monitoring, treating, and evaluating the health conditions of a sick fisherman at sea.
On October 5, the infirmary received and provided emergency treatment to fisherman Huynh Ngoc Trieu, a 38-year-old crew-member from Nui Thanh commune, Da Nang city, aboard trawler QNa 90444 TS, captained by Nguyen Xuan Van from the same locality. The trawler departed from Tam Quan port in Da Nang city on September 16 to conduct fishing operations in the Truong Sa fishing grounds.

According to medical history, approximately two days prior, the fisherman experienced constricting chest pain on the left radiating to his back, accompanied by shortness of breath. He rested on board, but the condition did not subside.
At 22:30 on October 5, the fisherman was brought to the infirmary. He was conscious, but experiencing severe pain in the left chest area and mild difficulty in breathing. Examination, electrocardiogram, and chest X-ray revealed no clear abnormalities. Doctors diagnosed the patient with unstable angina and noted the need to monitor risks of progression to myocardial infarction.
The infirmary’s military medical team urgently initiated emergency treatment following protocol for patients while closely monitoring vital signs. Following treatment, the patient’s condition showed an initial positive response.

Currently, the infirmary continues to monitor, treat, and evaluate health conditions of Huynh Ngoc Trieu, while pro-actively preparing management plans, should the patient show signs of progression to myocardial infarction.
