Speaking with troops in the Roon Border Guard Station under the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command, Gen. Chiem praised the unit’s great efforts in implementing its political tasks, and asked the unit’s leadership to continue to perform the education and training work so that the troops can be fully aware of their responsibility in grasping local situations.

The delegation also visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mother Nguyen Thi Tru and families of wounded veterans Nguyen Ngoc Dinh and Dang Thi Thuoc in Dong Hoi city.
* The same day, Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, visited and presented gifts to the Convalescence Center for National Contributors in Phu Tho province.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Gen. Van expressed deep gratitude to the wounded and fallen soldiers during the resistance wars and affirmed that over the past years, the Party, the State and the Ministry of National Defense always pay special attention to policy beneficiaries with various practical and meaningful activities.
* The Department of Politics under the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army held a meeting and presented gifts, worth VND 80 million, to 129 trade union members who are relatives of wounded and fallen soldiers on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Day of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs (July 27).
* Meanwhile, leaders of the Military Region 5 Command visited and presented 46 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to needy people at the Convalescence Center for National Contributors in Quang Nam province. On this occasion, they also offered incense at the provincial war cemetery, monuments of Vietnamese heroic mothers and heroic martyrs in Ngoc My village, Quang Nam province.
* The Communist Youth Union of Long Bien district, Hanoi, held an incense offering ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the Yen Vien War Cemetery. The delegation also presented gifts and saving books to local national contributors.
* On this occasion, Division 363 under the Air Defense - Air Force Service organized a meeting for children of wounded and fallen soldiers and national contributors who are working at the unit, offered incense at the war cemetery, visited and presented 80 gifts, worth VND 300,000 each, to families of national contributors.
