It has also carried out practical initiatives to support orphaned children, helping them overcome difficulties and pursue their studies and aspirations. These compassionate acts not only ease hardship but also spread the noble qualities of Uncle Ho’s Soldiers.

In military life, comradeship is reflected not only in working together but also in caring for and supporting one another in times of hardship. For non-commissioned Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Nam, an employee of the Department of Political Affairs of the Ca Mau Municipal Border Guard Command, this bond has become especially meaningful as he is battling a serious illness and facing numerous challenges during treatment.

Colonel Nguyen Chi Nguyen hands over financial support to non-commissioned Lt. Col. Le Van Nam and his family.

Upon learning of his circumstances, officers and soldiers in his unit raised more than VND 150 million to help cover his medical expenses. Their collective support has eased the financial burden on his family and given Nam additional strength and confidence to continue his treatment.

Nam said, “My family and I faced many difficulties when I got ill. I was deeply moved and grateful for the material and emotional support from my superiors and fellow officers and soldiers. Their kindness has been a tremendous source of encouragement, giving me the strength to continue treatment and strive to overcome the illness.”

Beyond caring for their comrades, troops of the Ca Mau Municipal Border Guard Command have demonstrated a strong sense of compassion and responsibility toward disadvantaged people in the local community, particularly orphaned children who lack affection and access to educational opportunities.

Pham Khai Hoang receives the scholarship.

Among them is Pham Khai Hoang, born in 2013 and living in Dau Lo residential quarter, Hiep Thanh ward, whose family is facing exceptionally difficult circumstances. His father, Pham Phuoc Nguyen, is classified as poor and is unable to work, while his mother died during the COVID-19 pandemic. The father and son are currently living in a relative’s house and continue to face significant hardships. Understanding the disadvantages Hoang has endured, the Women's Association of the Ca Mau Municipal Border Guard Command has provided sponsorship and support for his care and upbringing since 2022 through the “Godmother” program for children orphaned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, the Ca Mau Provincial Border Guard Command visited Hoang, offered encouragement, and awarded him a scholarship, worth VND 20 million. The assistance has helped ease his family’s financial burden, enabling him to continue his education, nurture his dreams, and build greater confidence in the future.

Colonel Nguyen Chi Nguyen, Deputy Head of the Department of Political Affairs of the Ca Mau Provincial Border Guard Command, said the provincial Party Committee and command would continue directing units at all levels to identify and assist officers and soldiers facing hardship, while supporting disadvantaged students in border areas. These efforts aim to ease difficulties and encourage service members and students to overcome challenges and improve their lives.
