The two pilots had accidents during their training course and went missing on April 30, 1971 in the region of Tam Dao mountain.

* The Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command, in association with the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society, on July 21 held a gratitude program to provide free health check-ups and present gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers, national contributors and needy people in Can Thanh town and Long Hoa commune.

Accordingly, leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command visited and presented gifts to two Vietnamese heroic mothers Nguyen Thi Hay and Le Thi Xe; provided free health checkups and medicines to 300 needy people; and gave 370 gifts to families of national contributors and seven special gifts to poor students.

* The same day, Lai Hoa Border Guard Station under the Soc Trang provincial Border Guard Command and the Health Center of Vinh Chau town provided free health check-ups and medicines, worth VND 20 million, to nearly 300 Khmer families of national contributors in Lai Hoa commune, Vinh Chau town.

* Meanwhile, a medical team of Military Hospital 175 and the Military Command of Long Dien district (Ba Ria-Vung Tau province) provided free health check-ups and medicines to wounded and sick soldiers at the Long Hai Convalescence Center.

The delegation also presented 103 gifts, worth VND 400,000 to national contributors and a pack of gifts valued VND 10 million to the center. On this occasion, the hospital sent many medical teams to give free health check-ups and medicines to national contributors and local people in the provinces of Phu Yen, Quang Nam, Tien Giang and in the Central Highlands.

* A martyrs’ remains search and repatriation team of Division 968 under the MR 4 Command reburied two sets of war martyrs' remains in the garden of Phan Ngoc Vien in Nghia Hy village, Cam Lo townlet, Quang Tri province. 

The remains were found together with some of the belongings such as a hammock, clothes, stamps, belts, combs, wallets and keys.

* The Military Command, in collaboration of the War Veterans' Association and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Quang Ngai city as well as Quang Phu ward's authorities collected and reburied sets of unidentified martyrs’ remains, which had been found in the area, at the locality's war cemetery.

* On this occasion, Regiment 295 of Division 363 under the Air Defense - Air Force Service organized various practical and meaningful activities, such as promoting information dissemination on the nation's revolutionary tradition and the meaning of the Wounded Soldiers' and Martyrs' Day.

The unit also organized a get-together for children of wounded and sick soldiers and national contributors; offered incense at war cemeteries; and presented gifts to 15 families of national contributors in the area where the unit stationed.

* Nhon Hung Border Guard Station under the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command and the authorities of An Phu commune (Tinh Bien district, An Giang province) handed over two charity houses to families of Ms. Neang Nhen and Mr. Chau Truoc after 3 months of construction.
