Female military personnel from the L2FH Rotation 8 participate in the event.

Personnel from countries contributing troops to UNMISS joined the event to spread the message, “Raise Awareness – Detect Early – Be United to Fight Breast Cancer,” encouraging women to take care of their health, as self-care also helps protect families and build healthier communities.

In a lively and united atmosphere, female military personnel from the L2FH Rotation 8  carrying Viet Nam’s national flag took part in the walk, demonstrating the commitment of Vietnamese military medical personnel to humanitarian activities and community health.

Their footsteps joined those of personnel from other participating countries across the UNMISS base in Bentiu, creating a friendly atmosphere of international solidarity. Every national flag waving, every smile, and every message shared helped spread positivity and highlight the role of women in peacekeeping, health care, and fostering connections within the international community.

Beyond its symbolic significance, the walk conveyed a practical message about breast cancer, one of the most common cancers among women worldwide. Raising awareness of risk factors, recognizing unusual breast changes, seeking medical examinations, and accessing health care promptly are essential to early detection and improving treatment outcomes.

Immediately after the walk, medical personnel from the L2FH Rotation 8 conducted a brief breast cancer awareness session, providing basic information about the disease, explaining warning signs, and encouraging women to take an active role in their health. The session presented practical medical information in an accessible and easy-to-understand manner, helping strengthen awareness of prevention and encouraging women to seek medical advice if they notice any suspicious symptoms.
