Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang chaired the ceremony.
The two deployed officers are Colonel Nguyen My Hanh from the Military Logistics Academy, who will replace Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thu as senior training staff officer at UNISFA; and Senior Captain Truong Tan Huy from Battalion 871 of Brigade 957 under Naval Region 4, who will replace Major Le Vinh Hoang as a military observer at UNMISS.

In his remarks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang emphasized that, over more than 12 years of participating in U.N. peacekeeping operations, generations of VPA officers and personnel had overcome many difficulties and challenges and successfully fulfilled their assigned tasks. Their efforts have helped enhance the image and reputation of the country, the military and Viet Nam’s peacekeeping force in the international arena.
Assigning tasks to the two officers, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang urged them to maintain close coordination with the working group and Vietnamese forces in the mission areas, strengthen internal solidarity, uphold mutual support and compassion, regularly share information and experience, and assist one another in successfully fulfilling their duties.

He stressed that, given the complex and unpredictable risks in the mission areas, the two officers must ensure their absolute safety and take good care of their health throughout their deployment.
They must remain absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the people, and uphold the qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
Reporting on the preparations, Major General Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Viet Nam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, said that preparations for the two officers had largely been completed. Both officers have demonstrated firm political stance and good moral character, completed specialized peacekeeping training courses, and acquired the professional qualifications and capabilities required for their assignments. They are ready to depart and undertake their missions with the highest determination.
