Despite their age and differing health and living conditions, members of the board have continued to uphold the qualities of Uncle Ho’s Soldiers, strengthen comradeship, support charitable activities and the search for and repatriation of martyr remains, promote revolutionary traditions, and contribute to military development, national defense, and their local communities.
General Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the 80th anniversary was an opportunity to honor generations of officers and soldiers who had served and made sacrifices for the country and to inspire continued efforts to preserve their legacy. He stressed that preserving traditions meant more than safeguarding documents and artifacts or commemorating historical milestones; it required translating those values into concrete actions, improving people's lives, and strengthening military-civilian solidarity.
