On behalf of the leaders of the MND and the General Department of Political Affairs, Major General Cao Xuan Thang, Deputy Chief of the Department of Policy and Social Affairs and concurrently Chief of the MND’s Social Insurance, chaired the meeting.

During the event, Gen. Thang expressed profound gratitude for the immense contributions and sacrifices made by Nghe An’s heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, and other individuals and families in the nation’s struggles for independence, and in building and safeguarding the Fatherland.

He noted that the Central Military Commission and the MND have consistently guided and directed relevant agencies to actively and closely coordinate with local authorities in implementing policies in accordance with regulations. Numerous practical and meaningful activities carried out by military officers and soldiers have significantly improved both the material and spiritual lives of policy beneficiaries and revolutionary contributors.

Reporting on notable achievements in this area, Vi Ngoc Quynh, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Nghe An province, stated that policy implementation for revolutionary contributors has been one of the province’s key priorities. Support for wounded and fallen soldiers and their families has become a deeply significant political and social effort, yielding tangible results. The "Gratitude" movement has been actively promoted, contributing to the improved well-being of wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs' families, and other revolutionary contributors across the province.

Thanks to the concerted efforts of the entire political system, Nghe An is currently among the top five provinces in Vietnam in terms of managing and disbursing both regular and one-time allowances for revolutionary contributors. As of May 31, 2025, the province was providing monthly allowances to over 64,000 individuals, accounting for 1.83% of the population, with total monthly disbursements exceeding VND 183 billion.

At the meeting, Maj. Gen. Cao Xuan Thang presented 30 gift packages from the MND to members of the delegation representing revolutionary contributors from the central province.
