On behalf of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP), Major General Doan Quang Hoa, Director of the Department of Policy and Social Affairs, chaired the meeting.

Speaking for the delegation, Vo Van Tam, Acting Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Vinh Long province, reported on the province’s key achievements in supporting and implementing policies for war invalids, sick soldiers, martyrs’ families, revolutionary contributors, and policy beneficiaries.

According to the report, Vinh Long province currently manages over 73,000 national contribution records, including more than 16,800 martyrs, over 4,900 wounded and sick soldiers, more than 2,800 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers (60 of whom are still alive), and over 48,000 other individuals eligible under various policy categories. More than 7,400 individuals and their family members receive monthly allowances. All revolutionary contributors are covered by health insurance. Notably, by 2019, the province had essentially resolved all outstanding martyr record cases.

In his remarks, General Hoa expressed deep gratitude for the tremendous sacrifices and contributions made by heroic martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, and families and individuals who contributed to the national liberation and the building and defense of the Fatherland. He commended Vinh Long’s proactive efforts in supporting revolutionary contributors and enforcing preferential policies, which have significantly advanced the “Gratitude Movement,” social welfare initiatives, and the resolution of pending cases.

Gifts handed over to members of the delegation

At the meeting, on behalf of the MND and the GDP, General Hoa presented 70 gift packages to members of the delegation from Vinh Long province.
